I noticed awhile ago that Windstone Editions got a negative on ebay. The buyer who bought the Rainbow Glitter black scratcher left a negative.

It’s really got me curious. What was up with that auction? What got him so riled up?

That is probably a question for Susie as she is usually the one to deal with eBay auctions. I’ll move it to the other forum where she might see it. I’m not sure if this is really a good question for the forums as really, transactions are between the seller and the buyer, and it is possible they can’t talk about it for disclosure reasons.

A few of us have a theory, that the guy didn’t read the note in the auction mentioning that shipping might be delayed due to the move. His main complaint was about how long it took to get his item…personally I think Susie needs to jump in there and put a note on that neg stating that the delay was due to the move, and to also ask the buyer for a retraction.

yeah….windstone did their absolute best to make sure everyone who could be affected was well informed about the effects of the move. Thorough reading pays. 😕

I’m glad you brought it up, Thunderwing! I’ve been wondering for a while too…like an itch I gotta scratch… 😉 😆

It’s looking like a lot of us noticed the ‘ding’ to their star and a drop in their 100%.

I myself do not believe that anyone at Windstone sent the individual a snarkey response; my interpretation of the buyers written feedback that was left for Windstone. Perhaps Windstone’s response to the buyer was short and to the point. Unfortunately, I have learned that some people would indeed translate that into rude. Me, I would interpret a short reply to mean that the person/company was busy, not rude.

Whether the person in question read the description in full or not, it probably doesn’t matter. The very idea that they might not have read the description in full would indicates quite a bit about their general personality, assuming that is what happened. We all know what is said when a person assumes something. We really don’t know what transpired. What we do know is that Windstone is a great company and that they will go above and beyond the call of duty to please us. That in itself allows us a little bit of leeway when we look at the facts that we do have at hand.

Also, some people, and I really believe that this might be what happened, expect way to much with any given situation. Considering their excellent feedback, it was bound to happen. Someone, somewhere just wasn’t going to be pleased. Any honest seller on Ebay will tell you to expect, from time to time, a buyer that no matter what is done, just can’t/won’t be pleased with their efforts.

Is it important for Windstone to pursue correcting this maybe unfair rating? Considering the new Ebay rules and their already stellar ratings, I’d wager, probably not.

There are days I hate dealing with the public – it really is true that you will never be able to please everyone.

I’ve exchanged several emails with the employee mentioned and never had a problem – she was always cheerful and helpful!

I think Windstone’s feedback speaks for itself. They have almost 2000 positive transactions, and other buyers saying the shipping was fine if a slow due to the move. Anybody researching it should see that this was an aberration or perhaps a grumpy buyer.Anyway on a year won’t it be gone under the new rules? And there have been several transactions since the negative that have all been positive. It’s going to get buried soon.

Thanks for asking, I’ve been curious myself.

Satsuna’s right. As many transactions as Windstone has and as many people as they need to deal with, one customer was bound to simply be impatient or impolite or whatever. I hardly think it’s something Windstone needs to worry about.

Glad I’m not the only one who was curious about this. 😛

I hadn’t considered the shipping delay issue. If that’s all it was, then sheesh. Certainly unwarranted, especially if it was posted in the auction description. Edit to add – except I checked the auction description, and it wasn’t mentioned there.

I can’t really see the staff at Windstone being ‘rude’. I’ve had all wonderful transactions with them, and the once that a piece did arrive damaged, they bent over backwards to make the situation right. So when I saw the negative I was like…. “wtf – what happened there?”

I’d say that any negative is a cause for concern. Especially if it was just slow shipping, and especially if it was caused by relocating the warehouse.

I doubt very many of us bother to read the description before we bid on something sold from Windstone. We probably go back and read after.

I’m not sure how you can make a judgment about someone’s personality based on this. I had to go back to the auctions three times to finally see the little message about Windstone moving wedged between the “Seller’s payment instructions” and “Similar items from all eBay sellers” (and it was only in one auction, the other makes no mention). It’s not even in the item description. I know myself and most people I know would just feel a little embarrassed for missing the message when the company pointed it out (for the auction that had it).

Anyways, I agree with GB and setsunawolf, Windstone’s reputation speaks for itself and this negative will soon be buried.

I have been wondering about that negative myself.
