Last year was the year of the pig (boar). Year of the dog was in 2006. 🙂
The animal order (posted for anyone interested) is:
Rat
Ox
Tiger
Hare/rabbit (sometimes replaced by cat in a few locations)
Dragon
Snake
Horse
Sheep
Monkey
Rooster
Dog
Pig (boar)I’m an earth Sheep, plus I’m a capricorn, which I find interesting (though I know they are unrelated). 8)

This being because, technically, I was born in 1978. However, my birthday falls between the Gregorian New Year and the Chinese New Year, so I guess I’m supposed to take the 1977 animal.
February 7, 2008 at 8:32 pm #662754I am a wood rat, ironically in direct opposition with the horse.
Funny, given all my “western” totems/horoscopes are all horse related.
It’s my year, and I am going to make the most of it.
EDIT: HAY! Look! My name now has “Windstone Staff” written over it! Don’t I feel special?

I am the year of the DRAGON – love it.
A couple of years ago TY (Beanie Babies) made all the Chinese animals and the Year of the Dog was a reddish gold colored chow chow, of course, I had to have that one along with a dragon they also made.
