I’ve enjoyed both of their music. I still like the music they’ve done so I guess I would be a fan, but not so big a fan to go to Graceland on Elvis’ birthday. 🙂
What prompted the question?

Miss Melodys interests in her profile. I was gonna PM, changed my mind, then read her interests cuz I glanced and saw the word “Horses.” Lawd I love horses.
August 24, 2007 at 1:51 pm #611325Frank Sinatra had a great voice, and was in some pretty good movies too. I’m not a huge fan though. I think I actually preferred Dean Martin over him… maybe because of those Jerry Lewis movies 😆
I’m not all that into Elvis either, but my husband has a collection of his songs on CD. I like some of the music from the “big sweaty rhinestone Elvis” years (as my husband calls it!)
But, I’m 25… so never got a chance to become real familiar with them, and listen to a lot of their music when they were popular and alive.
August 24, 2007 at 2:46 pm #611326I like the remastered Elvis songs they brought out a few years ago.

I grew up with Elvie and Frank so I LOVE both of them, but I can NOT stand Jerry Lewis. Never couldAugust 24, 2007 at 5:02 pm #611328Well, he was a real goof in his movies… and pretty annoying most of the time. But I always found myself watching them if I happened to flip to them on the television. But I think he is wonderful for all those fundraising telethons he hosted and helped put together.

I thought so to until I found out he gets paid to do what he does. It should be from the heart like my work not to get paid

I don’t know! I love Elvis, I love Bing Crosby. I love everyone else who is incredible. I know Frank Sinatra is incredible but I just can’t stand listening to him. Weird. Hating something like that fascinates me…how can someone hate music as good as that?
So I listen to him whenever I can, and try to figure it out. Usually, if I learn about an artist, I learn to love their art, but so far, no luck.
Do you people ever wonder about what makes you hate something? It is an interesting thing to think about.
Now, why do I hate venitian blinds? I hate yellow too… and game shows.
(My dad worked for Frank Sinatra. He had a lot of respect for his musicality. That is a big compliment, from a studio musician.)August 24, 2007 at 6:47 pm #611331Melody wrote:skigod377 wrote:So, what do you have against him? What about Elvis? Were/Are you a fan?

(My dad worked for Frank Sinatra. He had a lot of respect for his musicality. That is a big compliment, from a studio musician.)I have thought about some stuff and why I hate it and I have come to the conclusion that it was how I was raised and I saw things that my mom or others hated and then I began to hate them as well. But there are other things that at first when I try them I hate them, but then when I eat or listen to it again then I like it. I have also found out that when I listen to certain music then I have to be in the right mood. When I am angry then I listen to cookie monster music (heavy music and screaming vocals) and when I am calm I listen to classical music, but most of all I listen to Progressive Metal music because most of the time I have mixed feelings.
I love game shows…most of the people you see on there are happy just to be there and try and win money. Is it the money aspect that you hate or is it that you wish you were there? There isn’t that much stuff that I hate because I have learned to accept most things and get over what I was taught to hate (by watching them). But there is stuff that I don’t like about something…doesn’t mean I hate all of it. 😀

I really don’t believe he gets paid to do that, but even if he does… he helps pull in a heck of a lot of money for the Muscular Dystrophy Assoc. There are so many other celebrities out there who don’t even care about that kind of thing.
August 24, 2007 at 7:21 pm #611333I cant think of anything I really hate except mosquitos. I dont really like heavy metal, but I dont hate it. I just dont think its good music. Hmmmm…

😡 Yes, I HATE mosquitos too! I’ve got a few bites now that are driving me crazy. What is the point in those things even existing? They are no help to the environment… not that I know of anyway… they’re so annoying, and can spread disease.
I’m not a huge fan of heavy metal music either. I used to only like classic rock, but have started listening to an alternative station… because the other one plays the sames darn songs over and over. If it’s not the Eagles… it’s Fleetwood Mac every 10 minutes. ARGH! I really like those groups too… I used to at least. But since switching to the alternative station… I’m actually liking groups like Smashing Pumpkins, Foo Fighters, and I can even stomach a few Nine Inch Nails songs. I never thought that would ever happen!
