Is this one of the coveted “stripey griffens”?
July 27, 2007 at 4:07 pm #603756It sure is, and in good condition, too.
July 27, 2007 at 4:07 pm #603757Could be. It looks like it needs a bath.

Very true.
Yes, it’s one of the stripy griffins, but do the cheeks look a little off on color to anyone else? Also, it looks like the beak might have paint rubs or is really, really dirty.
July 27, 2007 at 5:17 pm #603759yes, his right cheek looks wierd, like it got painted over kinda messily with the wrong color brown. i was wondering about that too. hmmmmmm. i do see that stuff on the beak and it almost looks like that his wing has a crack, but it just made be an illusion of how the feather edges line up….
July 31, 2007 at 5:53 pm #603760His cheek and beak do look a bit odd. And the wing does look like there’s a crack in it, but I’m bidding on him anyway I really want a tan griffin!!! 😀
July 31, 2007 at 6:08 pm #603761His cheek looks ‘normal’ for this slightly-off coloration. His beak does look scuffed or dirty though. And the wing is an optical illusion, I think. These stripy griffins have darker antique and those are just creases in the feathers.

My art: featherdust.comJuly 31, 2007 at 8:24 pm #603762Anyone else notice this person is offering to ship it Media Mail? I wrote him/her a note about it.
If they still send it Media and try to insure it, then if anything does happen to it, the post may not honor the insurance, not to mention that they themselves will have to pay actual shipping and have all future Media Mail opened and inspected to make sure what is in the box is actually media. After that, then they will start getting fined for it.
I also mentioned that marking “FRAGILE” on Media mail will tip them off. I suggested FedEX, for $14 you get it shipped and that includes insurance and tracking. Much cheaper than the post office.
Hope they take the advice for the sake of the buyer.

July 31, 2007 at 8:45 pm #603763I noticed the bit about media mail and know that for some zones in the US you can’t ship media mail anymore. I’ve been selling books on amazon.com since January. Earlier this month I sent a book to Pittsburgh (Zone 8 ) by way of media mail fine. Then when I went this weekend to send another book to somewhere near Pittsburg (still Zone 8 ) the poastal worker said I couldn’t. *Shrugs* The post office confuses me now.
July 31, 2007 at 8:51 pm #603764I didn’t notice that. Good catch Kyrin and thanks for the info.
