His color really looks like Rainbow Fish minus the red scales. It’s hard to see the lavendar, but I love how this one turned out!

June 17, 2007 at 10:37 pm #590116How beautiful! I love all those different shades. If only my mom liked dragons, this would fit her perfectly.
Anyway, I don’t know how easy it is to fix, but you do have a typo in your post:
“Have you ever read the childrens bood”
Should be book, not bood (hey, at least you didn’t type ‘boob’! 😉 )I hope that one sells well for you! 😀
June 18, 2007 at 12:10 am #590117He looks almost identical to my Moonstone Dragon, with the same silver markings and everything. Though to be fair, I understand putting silver markings on a blue dragon since it’s a ‘cool’ color. I did this one for my mom as a gift, but had it been done for Windstone, I don’t know if it would be okay or not. 😕

My art: featherdust.comJune 18, 2007 at 1:22 am #590118They do look similar expect for the red stone. And they both are pretty. 😀
June 18, 2007 at 1:45 am #590119I think it is gorgous! Though I am curious about the choice of the red stone.
While hiding somewhere in my head I'm on the lookout for white oriental dragons! Please let me know if you know of any available. Thank you!

They look different enough to me. Phoenix’s is a much lighter blue with different dark points.
Hope it goes well Phoenix!
June 18, 2007 at 2:37 am #590121I like the choice of red stone…
As for the color similarities…yes, they are similar in color, in that they were painted in similar hues of blue…but the scheme itself is different and it is extremely doubtful that the dragon was an intentional concept copy.
June 18, 2007 at 2:43 am #590122I really don’t think the two look that similar. They look a tiny bit alike though. I’m not helpful am I? Anyways I hope it sells well. It’s very pretty.
June 18, 2007 at 4:33 am #590123Lovely dragon, Phoenix. I hope it sells well, and I don’t think it’s too similar to Nam’s. I can see plenty of differences.
June 18, 2007 at 4:52 am #590124Thanks all.
He does look similar to the moonstone dragon. I hadn’t seen him before. Though my guy has a lot of lavendar on his wings, chest, and shoulders you can’t really see that well.
I think color combinations after all this time are bound to double up sooner or later. But I take it as a compliment that you think he looks that much like yours!June 18, 2007 at 1:56 pm #590125I didn’t even realize it until someone asked me if it was mine! 😆 I asked them if they had even read the auction! It’s the only reason I brought it up, to alleviate any confusion. It’s a very pretty dragon. 🙂

My art: featherdust.comJune 18, 2007 at 2:38 pm #590126Are we not allowed to put silver or gold highlights on the dragons then?

There is a message when you go to the Windstone home page and then try to enter the site. It is mentioned there. 🙂

This is a strange issue that I don’t even know a good answer on. My suggestion is that as long as the color scheme and patterning/style of the PYO is not at all like a official Windstone piece, then you are probably safe. 🙂
I would recommend against ever using the accents in the same places when doing a repaint (i.e. if doing a repaint, you’re far more likely to get in trouble if you put the gold accents back on the way they were in the production piece, if that makes sense). For example, Ski’s lovely PYO paint job on this piece does not resemble am official Windstone paint job, color, or scheme. She’s got the gold accents on this fellow, and in my understanding this is okay.

I hope that helps?
