Pearly Metallic Wolf/Trial error for Mama Dragon

I painted this guy to try out some new paints I just got in, and he’s gonna be a booger to photograph I think, but he’s actually quite nifty in person.

Try to imagine he’s about 5 shades darker, but just as bright. His actual fur body is cobolt black, if that helps. Flash really kills colors sometimes. The colors are actually just gorgious. All of the colors were hand brushed on, and there’s still black showing through. I went in the diection of the hais with everything, and it all came together really nice. The tops of his wings are silver pearl, and the silver mixes with the green a little bit, for a blended look. He has some pearl in his body as well, but I doubt I’ll ever be able to photo that.

He is a test out for my mama dragon. I think I am going to paint her black, then do her scales antqued with the green (it’s the most awsome color), and metalic/pearl her wings rainbow. She jsut might be slick.

Anyway, any thoughts would be appreciated.

Think I should leave him solid black? With just the highlights? He’s got mixed eyes, I was going to paint his toes obviously, and gloss his nose. I don’t want to distrack from the wings, but don’t want him to be boring….
