Very odd. I just received notice that my ebay purchase of a tadpoad has been cancelled. The really odd part is that the notice came 10 days after the auction closed, and five days after the piece was supposedly shipped.
Update – I have gotten a message that the package was swiped on the way to the post office. As the seller said, “Hopefully, whoever took the item likes Windstone.”
Oh well, at least it wasn’t a once-in-a-lifetime “grail” piece. Now I feel a bit badly for posting about it. 🙁
yeah, i was bidding on the black red and white standing ki’rin and the seller just up and cancled the auction. i hate that. i only cancel if there are no bids but to cancel when someone has bid on an item with not message of why is really rude imo.
I think this time it is just the way ebay has the process set up – cancel first and explain later. You are right though … sometime auctions are cancelled before the bidding even ends, with no reason given. I hate that!

I messaged that seller, Betrluk1, because I intended to bid on that Ki-Rin as well. He got back to me saying he was listing for his mother who traded it. So it sucks, but at least its going to a lovely home I suppose. And we’ll have more money to gamble on the Snow Leopard 😉

Dreamscape, Orion, Poison Dart, Fireberry, Spangler + Tigerberry DragonsOh my goodness! I also won a tadpoad auction with that same seller. She did the SAME thing to me! I’m hearbroken as the tadpoad I won I was absolutely smitten with. 🙁 It was the most beautiful tadpoad I’d ever seen.
I waited and waited for some sort of update on the auction and several days after I messaged asking what was up and if it had shipped, I get a tracking # emailed to me (no explanation as to why it’s been 5 days since I paid for it and she still hadn’t shipped it); although the tracking showed that only a shipping label had been created, yet the item was never shipped or picked up. Several days later I inquire again asking when it will be shipped and I get the same explanation this evening; that the item was stolen from her unlocked car. Super frustrating and heartbreaking. 🙁

This is what I was afraid of when I read y’all’s posts – how long has it been? If it has been more than 24 hours, I would contact ebay given that there is more than one transaction involved. Hate to be cynical, but……

Yes, my refund came right through last night. I had paid for the piece with my Paypal balance and the refund posted to my Paypal account. I’m quite sure that the refund goes to your credit card if you paid by credit card, and maybe to your bank account if you used that, so perhaps those take longer to show up?

I got my refund right away with the notice of cancellation. I would message the seller to try and get your money back.

Just heard back from the seller and I received my refund immediately (she got flustered and accidentally forgot to click the “send” button on mine and had thought it went through). A heartbreaking situation for all involved. I feel very bad for her losses. Sounds like the thief stole quite a few Windstone boxes. :((
